How was the cooperation with OX Point?

The cooperation was very professional from the beginning. By the time we approached OX Point, we had already had experience with two other metal boxes and neither was very positive. I was all the more surprised when, at my first personal meeting at the company's headquarters, I was able to see and feel a product that both accounted for all weather conditions for external use and had a sophisticated solution for storing miniPCs and other components.

What do the OX KIOSEK boxes look like?

Here is probably a comparison with the competition, from which we have probably all picked up something. Basically a large metal case with many different sized cabinets, the opening of which is solved by clever and mainly PIN-controlled locks. Nothing complicated at first, but the moment you actually start to find out how many components are behind it all, it becomes a very advanced kit for big boys.

How did you manage to connect the HW from OX Point with the SW you supplied?

This was obviously a bit of a tricky one, but here I have to give a lot of credit to our development team who found common ground with the OX Point people very easily. Since our use-case was a bit different from the usual box of freight forwarding companies, we had to think about a few things differently. The long-developed M2C Log software, which provided a clear front-end and additional logic to send SMS with PIN, helped us here even more.

What services do smart boxes for garages provide?

Everything, of course, is based on the simple insertion or removal of the key to the car, which is left or picked up from the Autopalace Tuchoměřice car park. However, as part of the registration of the number plate when the car is handed over by the customer, other services are also provided related to the washing of the vehicle and also determining by when at the latest the vehicle should be ready for re-picking up. The OX KIOSEK box itself can also handle the GoParking agenda - i.e. parking during the holiday period. In addition, there is a payment terminal for payment of the agreed amount and, in addition, surveillance cameras connected to the Space surveillance centre.

Where do the OX KIOSEK boxes work?

Currently in AutoPalace Tuchoměřice, but others are already in the pipeline.

How do they rate the OX KIOSEK boxes in the garages where they are already in operation?

According to my information positively. It saves the work of a person who would have to manually take over and hand over keys from customers not only outside working hours. However, I do not hide the fact that we faced some minor childhood illnesses at the start, but soon enough we found a way with the customer to make the whole solution work to our mutual satisfaction.

Do you think smart boxes like this have a chance of success elsewhere?

From my point of view, definitely. I would liken it to the well-known success of so-called SOT (self-service kiosks) in fast food chains, where there has been an increase in sales, including upsells. Customers, for example, after a busy day, do not want any more personal contact with the most pleasant receptionist, but instead they want to quickly enter as little information as possible about the vehicle and the scheduled pick-up date, put the key in the locker and not worry about anything else. And this, of course, with the feeling of security that the key to their vehicle will not fall into unauthorised hands.

What is the greatest added value of OX KIOSEK boxes for garages?

Certainly a great saving in personnel costs, ensuring 24/7 operation, simplification of administration related to customer service and ultimately a more detailed overview of vehicles received or issued.
